Reimaging the Consultancy: An Effective Marketing Platform on the Web
Information security boils down to good passwords, right? Not quite. It’s one thing to require the right combination of characters to access a database, it’s another to know who has access to that data and how.
infoLock Technologies is a DC area firm specializing in data lifecycle security. Their consultants work with firms to conduct audits and put in place the right policies, and they partner with leading security product firms to deliver the right technology to their customers.
History and problem statement
infoLock Technologies came to us with a need to update their brand. They were updating the focus of their business, and they wanted their website to reflect that. They had been in business for four years and were changing focus from a data security reseller and narrowing their focus to that of a data lifecycle security consulting firm. And they came to us with an old website. They knew it needed to be completely replaced. They wanted a new CMS, new direction, and an engaging experience.
Vision to solve the problem
After talking with infoLock Technologies we knew the project would need a couple of things. A design to reflect their professionalism and their tech pedigree, but keeping a far distance from the bland, excessively stock photo type web sites of other companies in their industry. We set out to set them apart, with a design based on what they do and who they are. And based on a platform that would give them the tools to go to market every day.
How we did it
Improved information architecture
The information architecture was the first thing we fixed, creating a simple but effective scheme that describes their business lines and allows for high quality utility information.
Visual rebranding
The visual design was the most striking change. The infoLock homepage once featured obvious text boxes and a first generation iPod now featured their brand, with custom imagery, and up to date content. The new site features a consistent design throughout the site, and a design that is compatible with the rest of their marketing materials. Each aspect of the design comes together to reflect their business and place them heads and shoulders above the rest of their industry.
New content management system
It was obvious infoLock Technologies needed a better way to update their own content, so we outfitted them with the SilverStripe CMS. The included structured content types for press releases and solutions showcases, as well as events and a technical glossary. A job listing module helped infoLock expand their business, and Salesforce integration ensures that they never miss a lead from a site inquiry.
Client outcome
Their updated site provides them with the ability to update for new marketing campaigns, as they add new partners, and advertise new webinars. The site also boasts a look that reflects the company’s sector while not letting it blend in with the other firms. And they can provide information for security minded customers, including those that need to educate people in their own organizations.
We’ve had the pleasure to work with infoLock Technologies on multiple projects, but their website is the one that delivered the single greatest value to them and improved their image.
